Tour Info
Robert, Gentry and Neil have been singing together in church for many years. With their voices together, they found a sound that was undeniable. Their name, The Joy Reunion, represents reuniting with the love of music after years of trying to make it individually in the music industry. They started writing songs, performing locally and began releasing their original music online. As a country trio they found success that they had only dreamt of on their own and quickly became a chosen family both in music and in life.
Robert Easley and Gentry Monreal have been playing together for over 20 years as worship leaders at their church in Redlands, Ca. Neil Morrison joined the worship team in 2008 where there was an immediate connection between the 3 of them, and for the past 13 years, they have been inseparable. “We started writing songs, performing locally and began releasing our original music online. Individually, we have enjoyed wonderful musical achievements in our own projects- from performing alongside blues greats Joe Bonomassa and Kenny Wayne Shepherd to gaining recognition from Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Our three voices together is a sound that has been compared to having “Blood Harmony” and we realized that our Country trio was truly a special musical bond. We easily made the decision to make The Joy Reunion our sole musical focus. Our friendship is a bond beyond measure built on vulnerability, trust and laughter. As friends first and band-mates second, we have created a safe space for the three of us to support each other in all of the beautiful and broken parts of life. We have carried each other through death, through grief, through divorce, through breakups, through the challenges of a solid marriage, through raising children and everything in between. We choose each other everyday, and it only makes us stronger.”
The Joy Reunion are passionate songwriters and music creators. Their initial intention for this Country project was to song-write and shop the songs to other artists. As seasoned musicians spending decades trying to make their own musical dreams come true, they know how difficult it can be to take a run at it. In this stage of life, that dream can seem even more impossible to reach as family, children and mortgages come first. Yet as they began to create, to write and to perform the songs, they knew they had something too special to give away. As songwriters and multi-instrumentalists they also found fulfillment in self recording, engineering and self-producing thier own music.
