Over the past 25 years, Matt Maher has become a staple in the artistic and songwriting community. A 9x GRAMMY® nominee and 6x GMA Dove Award winner, he has garnered multiple radio successes,
writing and recording songs such as his Top 5 CCLI song “Lord, I Need You” and radio hits “Your Grace Is Enough”, “Hold Us Together”, “All The People Said Amen”, “Because He Lives (Amen)” and “Alive and Breathing”. Maher has co-written another five No. 1 radio singles, including David Crowder’s “Come As You Are” and Third Day’s “Soul On Fire”. In 2015 Maher was invited to join the elite group of musicians and artists as an official Steinway Artist.
Maher’s writing catalog contains some of the Contemporary Christian, Gospel and Worship genre’s timeless titles recorded by Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Crowder, Third Day, Jeremy Camp, Matt Redman, Hillsong, Casting Crowns, Meredith Andrews, Jesus Culture, Jars of Clay, Passion, Rend Collective, including multiple titles on the CCLI chart’s Top 500 list. His career album sales are more than 1M units to date, and Maher has also been awarded two RIAA Platinum certifications for “Lord, I Need You” and “All The People Said Amen” and two RIAA Gold certifications for “Alive and Breathing” and “Hold Us Together”.
He’s released 12 studio albums, including his 2013 GRAMMY-nominated All The People Said Amen, 2015 GRAMMY-nominated Saints and Sinners, and 2017 GRAMMY-nominated album Echoes. He released his first Christmas album and children’s book, The Advent of Christmas, in 2018. His latest release, The Stories I Tell Myself recorded at the historic Marty Stuart House, releases October 21, 2022.
He has performed four times at international Papal events and is embarking on his 12th headline tour in Spring 2023. Matt is a native of Newfoundland Canada and currently resides in Nashville, TN with his wife, Kristin, their three children and two pups.
